Brian Hujdich serves as Executive Director of HealthHIV, one of the largest national HIV non-profit organizations, and provides leadership to HealthHIV's Board and staff in programmatic achievement, fiscal stability, and organizational development.

Brian has over twenty-eight years of experience -- primarily in HIV -- in health care association management, medical advertising, public relations, health care policy, and medical education. Prior to leading HealthHIV, Brian served as deputy executive director of the American Academy of HIV Medicine, where he led the credentialing of HIV Specialists, among other initiatives. Previously he was vice president, account director, for Medicus (Publicis), where he supervised consumer and professional advertising and medical education for numerous HIV treatments and diagnostics, including: Didanosine, Zalcitabine, Efavirenz, Atazanavir, and Trugene. Brian also worked in the healthcare practice at several major public relations firms (Ketchum, Hill & Knowlton and Burson-Marsteller) where he managed numerous HIV product introductions (including Nevirapine) and worked with a variety of HIV/AIDS service organizations, community-based organizations, and non-profit agencies on a variety of initiatives from HIV prevention campaigns to treatment guidelines promotions.

Brian is a member of the National Health Council, Alliance for Continuing Education in Health Professions, Coalition for LGBT Health, Victory Fund, Humane Society, and the Italian American Foundation. He is a graduate of Rowan University, and a frequent guest lecturer on medical education, public health initiatives, and health care advertising.

As HealthHIV's Capacity Building Coordinator, Jarret is responsible for coordinating capacity building activities for several health centers participating in the AETC NCHCMC. He also manages content on the project website and the HIV Primary Care Plus initiative.

Prior to joining HealthHIV, Jarret was a Peace Corps Rural Health Extension Agent in Zambia. He has also worked at WebMD as a contributor to the news, features, and video production teams.

Jarret holds a BA from the University of Vermont and received an MPH from Emory University.

Andrea serves as HealthHIV's Project Associate and supports the organization in planning, implementing, and evaluating its capacity building assistance. Andrea also supports the overall research activities for the agency.

Prior to joining HealthHIV, Andrea worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as well as the Latin American Health Institute. She is a member of the American Public Health Association and the American Psychological Association.

Andrea received her BA in psychology and social behavior from the University of California, Irvine, and her MPH in social behavioral sciences from the Boston University School of Public Health.

Circe serves as a Communications Coordinator at HealthHIV. She has more than 20 years of communications experience in addressing education and health disparities in communities of color, with a specific focus on HIV.

Richard supports HealthHIV's workforce capacity initiatives and viral hepatitis programs. An experienced viral hepatitis advocate, Richard has worked with healthcare professionals, community-based organizations, and health departments to build capacity to address chronic viral hepatitis in highly-impacted communities.

Richard is a former Patient and Community Affairs Manager for Bristol-Myers Squibb. He also has served as Director of HIV Care Services at Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital in Norristown, PA. Prior to that, he was Executive Director and Founder of ASIAC (formerly AIDS Services in Asian Communities) in Philadelphia, PA. 

Richard is adjunct faculty at Immaculata University and Chair of the Board of Directors of SEAMAAC in Philadelphia, PA. Recently, he concluded a fifteen-year term on the Board of Directors of the National Minority AIDS Council. Liu earned his Masters of Public Health, in Community Health Education, from Temple University and Bachelor's of Science in Corporate Communication from Drexel University.

Victor is responsible for developing and executing all HealthHIV communications and public relations efforts. He oversees external communications, including media relations, web site development and content, as well as the development of all HealthHIV marketing materials.

Prior to joining HealthHIV, Victor held various positions with Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and in the office of Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (18-FL).

Victor is a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association, National Health Council, and Coalition for LGBT Health. He is a graduate from the University of Michigan.

 
Mona Moore 2011

HealthHIV's Program Specialist, Mona is part of the clinical team developing HIV training packages to assist with integration of HIV programming into primary medical care.

A Family Practice Physician Assistant (PA-C) with over thirty years experience, Mona has worked in progressively responsible positions in global HIV, safe motherhood, maternal and child health and nutrition programs in more than 20 countries. For the past eight years, she has focused on integrating HIV and other health programs, and was the lead clinician at HealthHIV on past HIV capacity building projects.

Mona has been a nationally certified PA-C since 1978, and was recertified in 2009. An American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) accredited HIV Specialist since 2010; Mona received her MA in 1980 in international health/education. She is a member of the AAHIVM, Infectious Disease Society of America, HIV Medical Association, and the Committee for Respectful Care at Birth.

Jaime O

HealthHIV's Research Coordinator, Jamie supports the organization's overall research activities for the agency.

Prior to joing HealthHIV, Jamie held various positions in both the private and public sectors, including the Philadelphia School District, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and seven years in private sector operations management.

Jamie earned his MPA and Graduate Certificate in City Management from Villanova University and his BA from Temple University.

Henry serves as HealthHIV's clinical program specialist, providing support to the organization's efforts to integrate HIV care into primary care.

Prior to joining HealthHIV, Henry worked as Director for the Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center, a Ryan White training program for health care providers treating people living with HIV. He brings several years of experience assessing and developing prevention, treatment and care interventions for diverse target populations. Prior to his work in public health, Henry was a primary care physician for more than 10 years.

Henry received his medical degree from La Universidad de Zaragoza, in Spain.

As HealthHIV's Clinical Specialist, Stephen provides clinical insight on HIV care and treatment projects, as well as clinician education and development.

Stephen began his career in HIV care in San Francisco working as a registered nurse case manager for the HIV Services Division of Catholic Charities. An Edward Roybal Public Health Fellow with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Stephen most recently has been working as a nurse practitioner caring for HIV positive patients in Northern Virginia.

Stephen is a member of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care, and the American Academy of HIV Medicine.  He received his BS in health science form St. Mary's College of California, his nursing degree from University of San Diego, and a Masters degree from University of California, San Francisco.

As Senior Director of Programs for HealthHIV, Javier is responsible for leading the management and implementation of HealthHIV's capacity building, education, training, evaluation, and research activities. He currently serves as the Project Director of the AETC NCHCMC,and works closely with the Executive Director directing the organization's outreach and marketing activities.

Javier has over 20 years of experience working in HIV and health-related policy, government relations, advocacy, program development, implementation, and evaluation.  Before joining HealthHIV, Javier served as the Acting Director for Government Relations and Public Policy and the Federal Affairs Manager for the National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC). Prior to NMAC, Javier worked in public relations, advising clients on HIV related and health care policy issues. He also served as a legislative representative for AIDS Action Council in Washington, DC and in various capacities in the US Senate for Senators Byron L. Dorgan (D-ND), Bob Krueger (D-TX) and Lloyd Bentsen (D-TX).

A member of the American Evaluation Association (AEA) and the American Society for Training and Development, Javier also served as a member of the American Psychological Association's Advisory Committee on Psychology and AIDS; a co-chair for the National Organizations Responding to AIDS (NORA) coalition; and a board member of the National AIDS Housing coalition.

Javier is a graduate from the University of Notre Dame. Outside of work, he is a dedicated parent, and enjoys piano and voice.

 
Michael Shankel

As HealthHIV's Prevention and Policy Manager, Michael is responsible for managing the organization's day-to-day prevention and policy efforts.

Prior to joining HealthHIV, Michael began his career as a research specialist with the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, where he combined his experience of behavioral health sciences, health research, and technology, to develop online HIV/STI interventions. While there, he implemented programming that facilitated parity, inclusion, and representation of high-risk, sexually active young adults in HIV community planning processes. In 2006, Michael joined the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts, first as director of The MALE Center (Boston's gay and bisexual men's community health and wellness center), and then as director of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender health.

Michael has a BS in biology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, PA, and a MPH from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health.

Alisha is responsible for leading the management of HealthHIV financial and budgeting systems. She works collaboratively with the Executive Director and other Directors to oversee accounting, budget reporting, auditing coordination, and reporting deliverables for the organization. She also manages large federal grants and subcontracts, and provides leadership and supervision to the finance and administration team.

As HealthHIV's Senior Capacity Building Manager, Christine is responsible for managing capacity building activities within HealthHIV. 

Prior to joining the HealthHIV, Christine worked on a variety of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) contracts where she managed technical assistance activities with state alcohol and drug abuse directors and worked to support peer grant review processes. She also interned with the National Women’s Health Network and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Christine is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park, and has a MPH degree from George Washington University.

James Sykes

MPH, Advocacy Manager

James provides overall coordination of HealthHIV's advocacy efforts and has been involved in HIV since 1994. Beginning as a volunteer care and support "buddy" for a person living with HIV in Atlanta in 1999, he joined the Tampa AIDS Network as a Health Educator where he developed and implemented a pilot program designed to increase adherence to treatment among minority clients. James went on to serve as Director of Education where he supervised the community outreach, HIV testing, and community education programs. In 2004, James joined The AIDS Institute where he served in several capacities, the last of which was as Director of Global Policy.

James has a BA in systems biology and a MPH in Community Health Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Shar'ron manages and implements HealthHIV training programs specifically HealthHIV's Fiscal Health program which provides training and technical assistance to Ryan White providers. Shar'ron also coordinates HealthHIV's internship program and is laying the foundation for HealthHIV's women's program.

Before joining HealthHIV, Shar'ron served as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer at the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and has worked at other non-profit organizations in Philadelphia such as the Philadelphia Black Women's Health Alliance and the West Philadelphia Child Care Network and interned at the NBC 10 WCAU-TV.

She is a graduate from Temple University's School of Communications and Theater in Philadelphia.

Carmelita manages office operations and coordinates human resources activities accross HealthHIV.

An experienced administrator, Carmelita previously severed as Director of Business Development at RainbowPUSH in Los Angeles.  She has also acted as an Adjunct Professor at University of District of Columbia and HIV/AIDS Program Developer for Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Carmelita earned her Masters in Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix  and is currently a PhD Candidate in Public Health/Community Health Promotion at Walden University.

Niko manages research and evaluation activities across HealthHIV projects.  

Prior to working at HealthHIV, Niko worked in Southern Africa with PEPFAR and spent significant time as a biochemist, bread baker, and musician.

Niko received his MPH from Emory University and a BS from University of California, Santa Cruz. He currently volunteers for Common Good City Farm in the LeDroit area of Washington, DC.
