Our Educational Approach
HealthHIV designs and implements educational programs responsive to the capacity-development needs of clinical, community-based, and faith-based organizations providing services to people at risk for, or living with, HIV. HealthHIV staff:
- Implement educational programs focusing on performance improvement. HealthHIV understands the importance of performance improvement and works with program participants to apply educational learning to ensure ongoing program improvement, service improvement and sustainability.
- Create and coordinate trainings based in adult learning principles. HealthHIV developed Learning Communities and other training models to facilitate the collective learning and organizational development needed to support networks of services and care for vulnerable minority populations living with HIV.
- Develop training curriculum responsive to the needs of end-users. HealthHIV trainings are developed using results from a formative research process that captures information about end-user's training needs. Training curricula include practical tools, resources, and templates that can be adapted by organizations to meet programmatic or organizational needs.
- Implement trainings using state-of-the art technology. HealthHIV understands the importance of designing and implementing trainings that limit participant's time away from the office. Thus, HealthHIV has the capability to create and deliver trainings using state-of-the-art, web-based technology. Using Web-ex©, trainings are interactive, conducted in real-time, and available to organizations indefinitely, via our Online Resource Center and other publications.
