Brian Hujdich serves as Executive Director of HealthHIV, one of the largest national HIV non-profit organizations, and provides leadership to HealthHIV's Board and staff in programmatic achievement, fiscal stability, and organizational development.

Brian has over twenty-eight years of experience -- primarily in HIV -- in health care association management, medical advertising, public relations, health care policy, and medical education. Prior to leading HealthHIV, Brian served as deputy executive director of the American Academy of HIV Medicine, where he led the credentialing of HIV Specialists, among other initiatives. Previously he was vice president, account director, for Medicus (Publicis), where he supervised consumer and professional advertising and medical education for numerous HIV treatments and diagnostics, including: Didanosine, Zalcitabine, Efavirenz, Atazanavir, and Trugene. Brian also worked in the healthcare practice at several major public relations firms (Ketchum, Hill & Knowlton and Burson-Marsteller) where he managed numerous HIV product introductions (including Nevirapine) and worked with a variety of HIV/AIDS service organizations, community-based organizations, and non-profit agencies on a variety of initiatives from HIV prevention campaigns to treatment guidelines promotions.

Brian is a member of the National Health Council, Alliance for Continuing Education in Health Professions, Coalition for LGBT Health, Victory Fund, Humane Society, and the Italian American Foundation. He is a graduate of Rowan University, and a frequent guest lecturer on medical education, public health initiatives, and health care advertising. /p>

Jacqueline brings more than 20 years experience in training professionals in HIV, health equity, and public health as well as vast experience in community building, leadership development, and technical assistance and capacity building/support. She has worked extensively with domestic and global public health, private, governmental and non-governmental leaders in maximizing their service impact to clients and consumers. Jacqueline has designed and directed technical assistance efforts on HIV and other related organizational infrastructure and community mobilization for over 800 agencies throughout the US. Jacqueline will manage HealthHIV's "Fiscal Health" program which trains Ryan White administrators and fiscal managers, and HealthHIV's retention in care programs, including a new national training initiative - the "Remaining Relevant in the New Reality" tour -- for AIDS service organizations and community based organizations. Coleman earned a Masters in Management from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Education from Howard University. She has successfully completed all course work toward a doctorate in management and is engaging certification in Health Informatics Technology Management.

 
Shauna

, MPH, Capacity Building Manager

As Capacity Building Manager, Shauna is responsible for  managing capacity building activities within HealthHIV, and serves as the Program Manager of the AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) National Center for HIV Care in Minority Communities (NCHCMC).

Shauna has thirteen years experience managing government contracts and national and community-based programs centering on the prevention and management of health conditions among underserved populations.  Prior to joining HealthHIV, Shauna was the Manager of Programs/Evaluator for AIDS Alliance for Children, Youth & Families., where she led the development and implementation of a comprehensive evaluation strategy for the organization and its programs.

Shauna earned her Master of Public Health degree in Health Promotion, Behavior & Education from the University of South Carolina.

Julio

, TRAINING & WORKFORCE MANAGER

As Training and Workforce Manager, Julio supports HealthHIV’s Workforce Initiative and related capacity building efforts, as well as provides communications support for related initiatives.

Julio has over eleven years of expertise in coalition/member development, education, and public policy training. Before joining HealthHIV, Julio worked at the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA) providing managment support for the Minority Clinical Fellowship Program. Prior to HIVMA, Julio served as Director of Training for Healthcare Reform at Mental Health America.

Julio has been living with HIV since February, 2009, and currently volunteers as a mentor at Whitman Walker Health's +1 Program, which supports people newly diagnosed with HIV in Washington, DC.

Julio holds a BA in Psychology with Distinction from George Mason University.

Circe serves as a Communications Coordinator at HealthHIV. She has more than 20 years of communications experience in addressing education and health disparities in communities of color, with a specific focus on HIV.

, MPH, Director of Advocacy and Alliance Development

 

Joseph brings to his role as Director of Advocacy and Alliance nearly 20 years of experience in health-related resource development, organizational development, coalition building, and LGBT health advocacy. Before joining HealthHIV, Joseph was the Senior Policy Associate at the National Coalition for LGBT Health. Previously, Joseph held senior leadership positions with the New York LGBT Community Center; Our House of Portland, an HIV/AIDS service provider in Oregon; and The Collins Group, a Pacific Northwest-based capital campaign consulting firm. Joseph earned his MPH at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health producing a seminal report on HIV & Aging for the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America in New York. Joseph will work on HealthHIV's expanding advocacy platform across multiple initiatives: Integrated HIV primary care and service delivery models, workforce capacity building and training, leading edge prevention and treatment, health equity, LGBT health, and Affordable Care Act implementation, among others.

, Senior Director of Capacity Building

 

With more than 20 years of experience in domestic and international healthcare and development planning, Mayo most recently was Project Officer at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care. At HRSA, Mayo was integral in formulating an integration model for community health centers (CHCs) to implement the National HIV/AIDS strategy and developing materials to expand CHC understanding of guidelines/protocols of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment. She also served as a Lead Training Specialist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in HIV prevention and global HIV/AIDS programs. Mayo will manage HIV-related capacity building efforts focused on community health centers and other primary care settings. Mayo also will lead the National Center for HIV Care in Minority Communities.

HealthHIV's Program Specialist, Mona is part of the clinical team developing HIV training packages to assist with integration of HIV programming into primary medical care.

A Family Practice Physician Assistant (PA-C) with over thirty years experience, Mona has worked in progressively responsible positions in global HIV, safe motherhood, maternal and child health and nutrition programs in more than 20 countries. For the past eight years, she has focused on integrating HIV and other health programs, and was the lead clinician at HealthHIV on past HIV capacity building projects.

Mona has been a nationally certified PA-C since 1978, and was recertified in 2009. An American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) accredited HIV Specialist since 2010; Mona received her MA in 1980 in international health/education. She is a member of the AAHIVM, Infectious Disease Society of America, HIV Medical Association, and the Committee for Respectful Care at Birth.

HealthHIV's Research Coordinator, Jamie supports the organization's overall research activities.

Prior to joing HealthHIV, Jamie held various positions in both the private and public sectors, including the Philadelphia School District, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and seven years in private sector operations management.

Jamie earned his MPA and Graduate Certificate in City Management from Villanova University and his BA from Temple University.

Henry serves as HealthHIV's clinical program specialist, providing support to the organization's efforts to integrate HIV care into primary care.

Prior to joining HealthHIV, Henry worked as Director for the Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center, a Ryan White training program for health care providers treating people living with HIV. He brings several years of experience assessing and developing prevention, treatment and care interventions for diverse target populations. Prior to his work in public health, Henry was a primary care physician for more than 10 years.

Michael Shankel 

, MPH, DIRECTOR OF PREVENTION AND POLICY

As HealthHIV's Director Prevention and Policy, Michael is responsible for leading the organization's day-to-day prevention and policy efforts.

Prior to joining HealthHIV, Michael began his career as a research specialist with the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, where he combined his experience of behavioral health sciences, health research, and technology, to develop online HIV/STI interventions. While there, he implemented programming that facilitated parity, inclusion, and representation of high-risk, sexually active young adults in HIV community planning processes. In 2006, Michael joined the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts, first as director of The MALE Center (Boston's gay and bisexual men's community health and wellness center), and then as director of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender health.

Michael has a BS in biology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, PA, and a MPH from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health.

Alisha is responsible for leading the management of HealthHIV financial and budgeting systems. She works collaboratively with the Executive Director and other Directors to oversee accounting, budget reporting, auditing coordination, and reporting deliverables for the organization. She also manages large federal grants and subcontracts, and provides leadership and supervision to the finance and administration team.

 

Marissa

, PREVENTION AND POLICY MANAGER

As HealthHIV's Prevention and Policy Manager, Marissa is responsible for managing prevention and policy activities within HealthHIV.

Before joining HealthHIV, Marissa served as a Policy Health Associate for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where she managed TB-related education activities. More recently, she worked in the field with the District of Columbia Department of Health, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD and TB Administration, facilitating viral hepatitis technical assistance activities. 

Marissa is a graduate of The George Washington University's public health program.
