Collaborating Organizations Corner: HealthHIV

HealthHIV is the new name of the CAEAR Foundation, one of the largest national non-profit organizations working to advance effective prevention, care, and support for people living with, or at risk for, HIV/AIDS. Located in Washington, DC, HealthHIV provides organizations, communities and professionals with:

Educational Opportunities- Allowing clinicians to improve and expand their HIV prevention, care and support services.

Technical Assistance-For organizations to effectively and efficiently use resources to provide HIV-related services.

Health Services Research-Allowing HIV service providers to qualitatively and quantitatively measure their impact on communities

HealthHIV is working to include HIV in the broader healthcare environment by supporting primary care providers as they introduce and expand HIV services into their communities.Using state-of-the art technology and state-of-the-science approaches, with the support of an in-house research team, HealthHIV is constantly working to remain data and outcomes driven.

A member of MMP's PAB, HealthHIV Executive Director Brian Hujdich brings the organization's distinct reach to primary care providers, helping them learn more comprehensively about the experiences and needs of people who are receiving care for HIV. At the same time, Hujdich has educated his constituency on the importance of MMP and encouraged their participation.Hujdich's colleague and Senior Researcher & Evaluator for HealthHIV, Peter Gamache, presented to the 2009 National Provider Advisory Board meeting on the need for improved participation in MMP surveillance among primary care providers.
